Bristle dartboards are made of sisal fibers, a tough compressed material used in a variety of different applications from car breaks to rope. These fibers heal the holes in the board once the dart is removed and is a more authentic style of dartboard compared to the newer electronic style. They require steel tip darts in order to penetrate the board which are typically heavier than soft tip versions.
