Proper Vogelpik Grip for Shooting

Like any sport, everyone develops their own techniques to play the game. Some methods work for some while others choose to do it in a more unconventional way that also can be successful. The same goes when it comes to gripping the pik. However, this article seeks to provide you with details about the composition of the materials in a Vogelpik so you can make an informed decision on how you choose to hold it.

First, realize that piks are front weighted compared to darts that have a more distributed weight throughout the body of the dart. Piks have a heavier front with a lead weight (depicted with a circle) as well as a steel tip on the front. Due to this, most players don't hold a pik in the center because it tends to drop during flight. We recommend you hold your pik either on the steel tip itself or directly behind it for best results.
